Helvitnir was formed in 2023 when Bjarkan, Vargblod and Ihizahg decided to leave Ragnarok. They took most of the song material with them and completed this in the months that followed. 

November the same year they launched the official start of the band with the video single Helvitnir. A 7-track demo was recorded and sent out to record companies, and they quickly got in touch with Italian Dusktone.

In December they released a second videosingle for the song Void of emptiness. This song caught the attention from a couple of UK radiostations , and was played, and still is, on their rockshows.

They lacked a drummer, so they got the eminent drummer Jan Axel (Hellhammer) Blomberg on the team in the end of December to play on the debut album. Helvitnir was finally complete.

The deal with Dusktone was signed in January, and the album is planned for release in late autumn 2024.
